Kindergarten class and morning assembly

Yesterday morning, I had a 40 minutes class in the kindergarten. I made them introduce themselves in English "My name is ______" with a huge pink mike pillow. Most of them do not have an English name, so I gave them one. Of course, with their permission. If they wish to use their chinese name when introducing themselves, I am totally okay with it.

They passed the pink mike to the child who sat beside after introducing themselves. The children like the pink mike very much and they wanted to hold it so badly. The situation became quite chaotic after a while and the class teacher helped to keep the children calm and behaved.

I taught them some greetings before like "Hello", "Good morning", "Good afternoon". Again, we practiced these greetings by using the huge pink mike, passing it around.

After that, we have a small game. I rolled/threw a ball to a student, and he/she has to say 2 types of fruits in English. This should not be difficult for them as I taught them 9 types of fruits in the previous week (Banana, Mango, Strawberry, Cherry, Apple, Pineapple, Papaya, Watermelon, Grape).

Most of them did a good job! After that, they learned how to sing the "Good Morning" song and we changed the characters in the song into some children's name. Then, I invited the children to come in front and we sang together. The rest have to clap and sing along.

This morning, we had assembly and I have 2 students: Kevin from grade 3 and Julie from grade 5 to demonstrate the simple English conversation I taught in class (Click here). They stood very far away from each other. LOL. Overall, their performance was good.

Left was Julie, right was Kevin
